EARTH HOUR


"EARTH HOUR"
Millions of people world wide switched off lights and appliances for an hour in a gesture to raise environmental problems.The World Wildlife Fund has organized fourth annual "Earth Hour" on 27 March 2010.Yesterday,the world has been turned in dark during 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm at local time of the countries. People turned off their lights and electrical appliances.
The idea behind this was that to create awareness to take action on continuously changes in climate .The first Earth Hour was celebrated at Sydney , Australia in 2007 when people were asked to turned off their lights for an hour.
As we all know that the global warming and its subsequent adverse impacts become a great challenge for humanity .Most of the scientific evidence proved that global warming is increasing due to green house gas emissions that are related to the human activities.Humans must be aware of harmful effects of their activities on climate .
Last year some 88 countries has celebrated it but this time more than 4,000 cities of 120 countries took part in this world campaign of Earth Hour to save the environment of Earth.The Eiffel Tower in Paris , the Empire State Building in New York, Petrina's Twin Towers in Malaysia,Opera house in Sydney had gone in dark for the global participation to save our Earth.
